Development of an adaptive fine machining process for the resource-efficient production of function-optimized inner pipe surfaces in precision steel tubes (HeR0 2)

Project Duration: June 2022 to February 2025

As developers of cutting-edge tools for finishing metallic surfaces, we see our responsibility in continuously developing our tools further and exploiting optimization potential. Within the scope of this project, we conducted research together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU in Chemnitz on the new development of a fine machining system for the internal machining of long workpieces.

Increasing Energy Efficiency in Production through Multivalent Data Use (EmulDan)

Project Duration: December 2020 to May 2024

As developers of cutting-edge tools for finishing metallic surfaces, we see our responsibility in constantly developing our tools and taking full advantage of optimization potentials. At the end of 2020, our research work, in which the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU in Chemnitz and seven companies as well as a research institution are involved, has begun. Within the scope of this project, the increase of energy efficiency in production is aimed at.

Receptive Burnishing Tools with Integrated Sensor Technology and 5G Communication (RISEN_5G)

Project Duration: January 2021 to December 2022

At the beginning of 2021, our research work, in which the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen and R&D Steuerungstechnik GmbH & Co. KG are involved, began. RISEN_5G combines new and existing technologies to make relevant sensor technology available close to the point of action and to link the sub-process steps of burnishing and measurement technology. This should increase both product quality and process transparency.

Within the scope of the project, the following article was published in the MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute):

„Investigations on the Potential of 5G for the Detection of Wear in Industrial Roller-Burnishing Processes“ (https://www.mdpi.com/2079-9292/11/11/1678)

Development of a novel fine machining system for the internal machining of long workpieces (HeRo)
