WIW type internal roller burnishing tool

WIW type internal roller burnishing tool

Description

The Wenaroll internal burnishing tool type WIW for cylindrical bores produces precision fits with just a single pass. To meet your precision requirements, the machining diameter of our burnishing tool can be adjusted in the micrometer range. WIW-type burnishing tools are available for both blind holes and through holes. Through holes can be machined using either self-feed or machine-feed burnishing tools. Blind holes, however, can only be machined using machine-feed burnishing tools.

Tool structure

Wenaroll internal burnishing tools of type WIW consist of a tool body and a burnishing head. The tool body features a mechanism for precise adjustment of the machining diameter of the burnishing tool. The cage, rollers, and cone are wear parts and can be replaced quickly and easily. The tool shank can be supplied in cylindrical form, as a Morse taper, or as a custom version according to customer requirements. The standard machining depth of the burnishing tools is 50 mm. If this is not sufficient, we also offer a long version with 100 mm depth. If even that is not enough, please contact us — we will develop a custom version with greater machining depths for you. Burnishing tools with a diameter greater than 35 mm have an unlimited burnishing length, limited only by the overall tool length. With an adapter, significantly greater burnishing lengths can also be achieved — just reach out to us.
If large machining depths are required, we recommend ordering the burnishing tools with internal cooling. Both blind hole tools and through-hole tools can be supplied with integrated internal cooling. For further details, feel free to contact us.

Machining

With our internal burnishing tool type WIW, all metallic materials with a tensile strength of up to 1400 N/mm² and a maximum hardness of 45 HRC can be machined. Either the workpiece or the burnishing tool can rotate during the process. The burnishing tools can be used on conventional CNC machines as well as on machining centers, lathes, and milling machines.
